The Society of Illustrators - founded in 1901 - has since 1959 held an Annual National Exhibition of the best current work in six major areas of American illustration: Advertising, Editorial, Book, Institutional, Film, Television. Nearly 500 examples are chosen for the exhibition from thousands of entries.
